You have questions about who we are. Is this a church I want to visit? Will they welcome me? Are these people that I can connect with? Will I be able to make friends who will motivate me to a closer walk with God? Will there be a place for me to serve and minister here? Is this church biblical and sound in the faith? And there may be many other questions you may have . . .

We will do our best to give you a picture of who we are.

• We are a caring church family. One of the metaphors the Bible gives for the church is the "body of Christ" (1 Cor 12:12-27). In trying to honor God's vision for the church, we recognize each other as family "so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it" (1 Cor 12:25-26). In recognizing this is part of Christ's plan for the church, we try to be the Church of Christ through sharing our joys, hurts, and support.
  
  
• We are Bible based. We do not see the Bible as a good book. The word of God tells us that "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Tim 3:16-17). Since scripture is not inspired by man, but by God, we honor it as God's instruction for us for all of life. We place a high priority on Bible study and application so that we will know how to navigate life faithfully and honorably.
  
  
• We desire to love and raise our children with a strong foundation. The Bible tells us to "bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Eph 6:4). This is why we have Sunday School, Children's Church, and other activities geared toward our children. Our children serve and minister alongside our adults. We do not see our young people only as the church of tommorrow, but also as the church of today.
  
  
• We consider each person a minister. Nowhere does the Bible teach that ministry is the exclusive arena of "professional clergy." Instead, it tells us that Christian leaders serve "for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Eph 4:12). The Bible calls all Christians to Christian service. As a result, we encourage each Christian to service and ministry in the name of Christ.
  
  
• We are open and welcoming. The Bible tells us "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Gal 3:28). Regardless of race, ethnic identity, gender, or age, Christ brings all Christians together as one body. There are no second class citizens in the Kingdom of God. In using the body metaphor for the church, the Bible tells us, "If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body" (1 Cor 12:15). All are equally precious and valuable to God. Therefore we recognize each other as brothers and sisters equally.
  
  
• We are redemptive. The Bible tells us that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23). This scriptural reminder helps us to avoid pride and arrogance and embrace a gracious and healthy humility that allows us to be filled with love and compassion. We recognize each person as being made in the image of God and therefore possessing inherent dignity, value, and worth. We also recognize that the gift of redemtion through Christ, the Son of God, is offered equally to all people. This reminds us that God paid the highest price for what he values most in his creation, which are human beings. It doesn't matter what anyone has done in their past. Through the gift of redemption in Christ, the offer of reconciliation, redemption, and reformation of the heart is offered equally to all who surrender their lives to Jesus as Lord.
  
  
• The Gospel is our foundational message. The Bible tells us that the Gospel is the "power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Rom 1:16). Scripture defines the Gospel very clearly. "Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Cor 15:1-4).
  
  Jesus died for our sins and rose from the grave. We cannot go back and undo our sin. We can only hope for someone to pay the penalty for our sin. This is what Christ did when he died on the cross and rose from the grave. There is no other solution for our sin than to come to Christ. If one believes Christ died on the cross for their sin and rose from the grave and is ready to accept Christ's lordship over their life, then he or she is ready to be immersed into Christ and be born again. Jesus will wipe away all their sin and they will have a fresh start with God.

• We like to have fun. Whether it is a trip to the ball park, a picnic, playing games, eating together, we simply like to spend time together for no other reason than to spend time together. We believe that it is also in these unscripted moments that the glory of God comes through in the way we connect with each other.

Hopefully this gives you a snap shot of who we are. However, the best way for you to know more about us is to do so in person. We invite you to join us and come alongside us as we struggle to apply God's message to our lives.
